These tube flies, popularized in Europe, chasing Atlantic Salmon are staple patterns for chasing salmon everywhere now, but particularly up and down the northern eastern seaboard of North America (Canada) where the salmon run from the ocean into the freshwater rivers in the summer (May-August) and Fall (October-November) runs.

Tube flies are favored for Atlantic salmon due to their ability to present large profiles with small, short-shank hooks that offer better leverage and reduced snagging. They are especially effective in low or warm water conditions.

Presentation Techniques:

The Swing: Cast downstream at a 45-degree angle. Let the current pull the fly across the river in an arc.

Upstream Mend: Slows the fly and allows it to sink deeper.

Downstream Mend: Speeds up the fly to trigger aggressive strikes.

The Strip: Cast square across or slightly upstream and use quick, 6-inch strips to pull the fly rapidly through the water. This mimics fleeing baitfish and can elicit violent reactions.

Fishing the Dangle: Do not recast immediately after the swing. Many salmon follow the fly and strike just as it straightens in the current near the bank (the "dangle").

NOTE: These flies are tied on a tube and do not come with any hooks. Please match them up with your preferred hook model and size.
