The Poppin’ Feather-Head is an off-shore “bluewater” tube fly for big game species like sailfish, Marlin, and the like. It has a durable shaped foam head then painted and epoxied for optimal attraction and durability. The tail portion is comprised of a great combination of synthetic and animal (feathers) for good movement in the water as it swims. You can troll these flies as teasers and/or use the “bait-and-switch” method by casting the fly out to rising/teased fish. The head has a cupped face to push a lot of water and create quite the commotion.
This fly is about 6.5” long and comes in a variety of regular and attractor color combinations.
NOTE: The fly is sold without any hooks, but can be matched with Rainy’s® signature tandem hooks in either 6/0 or 8/0 depending on the species you are chasing with it.
