Fishing Report June 28th
Fishing is great all over! The Catskill rivers are in their prime - running at perfect flows for both wading and floating, with strong summer hatches coming on, and all the rivers have great clarity. Both the Cannonsville and Pepacton Reservoires are at 99% capacity - great for this time of year!

Fishing Report, June 14th, 2017
Connecticut and Catskill rivers are finally returning to good levels and clarity following last week's deluge. Most are down to good wading levels, with an exception or two. With the warmer air temperatures this week insect activity is good, and all rivers have robust hatches. While there have been bugs throughout the day, with the warmer air temperatures, be sure to hang on the water 'till dark - there are great late hatches ofSulphurs andDrakes, and of course,Coffin Flies and other spinners. The weather is expected to turn a bit cooler today and that bodes well for helping to keep water temperatures down.

Fishing Report, June 7th
As of this morning, allConnecticut and Catskill rivers are blown-out and unfishable! The storms that rumbled through our NY and Connecticut region Monday evening and all day on Tuesday brought all the considerable activity to a halt. But I can tell you what conditions were like on Monday before the storm, and chances are, once the rivers are down to a manageable level (probably by Friday or the weekend) the action should pick up right where it left off on Monday.

Fishing Report - River Conditions May 30th
Catskill and Connecticut rivers are in prime condition and are experiencing robust hatching activity. Recent and current rains have, in a few cases, caused temporary bumps in the flows but certainly not enough to blow the rivers out. Currently all Catskill and Connecticut rivers are clear and wadeable - although a few are still high and anglers are advised to wade carefully.

Fishing Report May 24, 2017
Connecticut and Catskill rivers have lowered nicely from the extreme high water levels of recent days. With the lower water, water temperatures have risen slightly which will result in more active fish as well. Both the clarity and water levels, as well as insect activity are at a perfect point in time - it will not get better than this! So be sure to get out and spend some time on your favorite water soon!

Fishing Report May 17th: Special Catskill Report
Fishing is getting hot all over, but today we'll focus in on the Delaware River system in the Catskills (including the Beaverkill and Willowemoc.) Several of us here at the shop have been spending time on all three Delaware branches over the past few weeks.

Fishing has been hot in bothConnecticut and Catskill waters. Water levels have been high but have been slowly dropping over the past week. Water temps are still very cold (40's and low 50's) but the hatches have been strong and the fish are up and eating.

Ben Rinker Tags Upper Delaware River Trout
Last year, legendary Catskill guide Ben Rinker form East Branch Outfitters introduced and was approved to conduct a comprehensive study of the Upper Delaware River watershed. Ben was looking for answers to what were the most important factors in evaluating how the system and fish respond to variable conditions and a general report card for the health of the river.

Fishing has been heating up in both Connecticut and Catskill Rivers. There have been ample bugs including good hatches ofHendricksons, Caddis, Blue Quills, Paraleps, Olives and early Stoneflies. There have been decentRusty Spinner falls in the evenings as well, and also midges.

Fishing Report April 26th 2017
Connecticut and Catskill rivers are running high, clear and cold! Streamer fishing is still accounting for a lot of fish, but the bugs are making their appearance! We were onthe Delaware East Branch on Monday and there wereHendricksons, Blue Quills, Caddis andBWO’s, but no fish on them as of yet. We did take a couple of beautiful 20-inch-plus fish on streamers.

Fishing Report April 20th
Overall, rivers in Connecticut and New York are in great shape. Many are still running high and cold but water levels are dropping and insect action is picking up. Rivers in the Delaware system are becoming wadeable, and Connecticut rivers are all nicely wadeable now.
