Greetings Compleat Anglers! We're still in a bit of a holding pattern as the cooler spring weather continues but as holding patterns go it's not a bad one to be in. The Hendys are definitely coming off on many trout streams and once the water temps climb a tick, things should really go off. Anglers are catching plenty of trout right now. In the salt, the bass are hungry and even though it's mostly schoolies at this point, the larger migratory fish should be here in a few weeks. So stay tuned and read on for details! Read More
Continued rain and cooler temps continues to make the trout fishing a little inconsistent, but the big news this week is that the Hendricksons are starting to show up. Once we get a window of nice warm weather they should start coming off in earnest. Dry fly anglers, start your engines! On the salt, the bass have moved out from the rivermouths, so while the fishing is still good it's less concentrated. It's time to try out some different spots and spread out a little too. There were some tough conditions this past week, with plenty of wind and rain, but there are definitely stripers around and they are eating! If you timed it right and kept an eye on the weather and tide charts, you could really find some exceptional early season fishing. We are cruising right through March and with the unfortunate state of the country at the moment, there has been a glimmer of hope for the fly fishing community. As “social distancing” becomes more prevalent, companies going on leave, schools closing, sports cancelled, and travel restricted, many anglers have surmised that one of the safest places to be is on the water. Coronavirus is not something to be taken lightly and we hope that all of our readers are taking the necessary steps to keep themselves, their loved ones, and the people around them safe. Yet, despite the chaotic nature of all of this, many of us now have more time to get out on the water, and at a great time of year no less. So stay safe, and read on for details... Read More

Greetings Compleat Anglers! We may not be in the heart of fishing season but that doesn't mean that we don't try to get out on the water occaisionally when the weather is nice.
