Fishing Report May 30th: Upper Delaware River System In Peril
Dear Compleat Anglers: Today's Blog will be a dual report - fishing conditions and flows for Connecticut and Catskill rivers will be covered in a separate report , but first, there are potentially grave happenings on the Upper Delaware River System and to that end, here is an important update from from FUDR (Friends of the Upper Delaware River.)

Fishing Report May 24, 2017
Connecticut and Catskill rivers have lowered nicely from the extreme high water levels of recent days. With the lower water, water temperatures have risen slightly which will result in more active fish as well. Both the clarity and water levels, as well as insect activity are at a perfect point in time - it will not get better than this! So be sure to get out and spend some time on your favorite water soon!

Fishing Report May 17th: Special Catskill Report
Fishing is getting hot all over, but today we'll focus in on the Delaware River system in the Catskills (including the Beaverkill and Willowemoc.) Several of us here at the shop have been spending time on all three Delaware branches over the past few weeks.
Fishing Report, May 11th, 2017
Fishing has been hot in bothConnecticut and Catskill waters. Water levels have been high but have been slowly dropping over the past week. Water temps are still very cold (40's and low 50's) but the hatches have been strong and the fish are up and eating.

Fishing has been heating up in both Connecticut and Catskill Rivers. There have been ample bugs including good hatches ofHendricksons, Caddis, Blue Quills, Paraleps, Olives and early Stoneflies. There have been decentRusty Spinner falls in the evenings as well, and also midges.

Fishing Report April 26th 2017
Connecticut and Catskill rivers are running high, clear and cold! Streamer fishing is still accounting for a lot of fish, but the bugs are making their appearance! We were onthe Delaware East Branch on Monday and there wereHendricksons, Blue Quills, Caddis andBWO’s, but no fish on them as of yet. We did take a couple of beautiful 20-inch-plus fish on streamers.

Fishing Report April 20th
Overall, rivers in Connecticut and New York are in great shape. Many are still running high and cold but water levels are dropping and insect action is picking up. Rivers in the Delaware system are becoming wadeable, and Connecticut rivers are all nicely wadeable now.

Year-End Fishing Report: November 30th 2016
Holiday Greetings, Compleat Anglers! It has been a great season, and time now for the final fishing report of 2016! As you know, Connecticut and Catskill trout rivers have been in a severe drought. So the rains of yesterday and today have been most welcome! While they won't alleviate the dry conditions and low waters, they will certainly help.

Greetings Compleat Anglers! Here is your fishing report for November 10th: In both Connecticut and the Catskills, there is still some good trout fishing to be had, although the Catskill rivers are a tougher bet as early winter approaches. The Delaware River system is at good height with all three branches at a good flow level.
Fishing Report October 20th
Greetings Compleat Anglers! Fall is upon us, and with it a mixture of beautiful foliage and beautiful fish! Here's the Fishing Report for October 20th! Fishing in L.I. Sound has been hot of late. There is still lots of bait (bunker of all sizes, bay anchovies, silversides and others) along the coast from Greenwich to Fairfield and points north.

Greetings Compleat Anglers! It's early fall here in Connecticut and in the Catskills and water temperatures in our freshwater rivers as well as in LI Sound are dropping nicely. Our Connecticut rivers and the Catskill rivers are all still low due to scarce rain this summer. However, later this week will bring several days of rain and hopefully that will lift both the Farmington and Housatonic rivers, as well as the Catskill rivers such as the Delaware system and the Beaverkill.
